In the forest, our roots are born and our tomorrow begins. Our destiny flows through the rivers, in the vastness of the green, with the ancestral wisdom of those who have passed through here. People who are the soul of the forest, of the true heart of Brazil. People who reforest, who reduce impacts and respect nature. People who build a sustainable legacy for future generations. Our future lives in this sacred green, and the commitment to honor it pulses within each of us.
In the forest, every step requires responsibility. Our sustainable mining method combines respect for the forest, social commitment to communities, and technology. Before, during, and after operations, we employ practices that preserve biodiversity, reduce impacts, and ensure ecological restoration.
More than extracting ore, our purpose is to give back to nature what rightfully belongs to it, preserving the flowing river, the growing plant, and the living fauna. This is our commitment: to promote true development, with respect for people and natural resources, safeguarding the legacy that must be ensured for future generations.
Operating with sustainable practices in the Amazon for over four decades, Mineração Rio do Norte (MRN) is advancing its strategy of integrating mining and sustainability with a reforestation program considered one of the most consistent in the country. In 2025, the company reached a total of 8,000 hectares of reforested land, with the planting of 443,000 seedlings from 84 native tree species, all produced in its Forest Nursery, including itaúba, cumarú, jacarandá, and copaíba. Since the beginning of the program, 15 million seedlings have already been cultivated.
The most recent milestone was the development of a pioneering monitoring model capable of generating indicators for reforested areas, which was approved by Ibama (Brazilian Institute of Environmental Protection) and involved collaboration with researchers and the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio). The system uses parameters from the Society for Ecological Restoration to measure the following key attributes:
Protected territory, safe forest.
Fertile soil, preserved water, and an environment conducive to the forest's flourishing.
The seeds that reveal the Amazon's unique biodiversity.
From large trees to small seedlings.
The plant that grows, the river that flows, the air that purifies, the shelter for our fauna.
The forest does not exist in isolation. It is an exchange of energy, knowledge, and wisdom.

The MRN Forest Nursery produces up to 1 million seedlings per year and is the heart of the reforestation process. The seeds are selected, germinated, and prepared for replanting. The selected trees are part of an extensive study of species recorded in the MRN forest inventory, leveraging technical knowledge and applying it to the benefit of the forest.
The evaluation of the new system highlights that the reforested areas already exhibit ecological attributes similar to those of the original ecosystems—reaching their maximum level on the Almeidas Plateau.

The conservation legacy extends beyond the mining cycle. The results confirm the union of economic development with environmental commitment and social responsibility.
The social transformation of the Boa Nova and Sacará communities, on Lake Sapucuá, located in the municipality of Oriximiná, is chronicled in this four-episode web series. This change was achieved through improved collection and processing of native seeds for ecological restoration.
Through real stories, MRN presents the Seed Collectors project, developed since 2023 by the Araticum Sementes Nativas and Sapucuá Sementes Amazônicas networks. The series chronicles the social transformation resulting from the participation of hundreds of communities in seed collection for ecological restoration.
The episodes recount how ancestral knowledge contributes to the success of the project and its collective legacy in the western region of Pará, which includes seed collection, processing, storage, and marketing.
TThe initiative is carried out in partnership with the Rural Producers Cooperative of the Jirau Environmental Observatory (Coopprojirau), the Association of Communities of Glebas Trombetas and Sapucuá (ACOMTAGS) and Redário, an articulation of networks and groups of seed collectors in Brazil.

In line with the global effort to preserve biodiversity and in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, MRN is committed to focusing its efforts on achieving zero net biodiversity loss across its projects and operations by 2030. Operating in the Amazon—one of the world's most complex ecosystems—biodiversity is already a priority for the company and will gain even more momentum with the development of new policies and tools to achieve this goal.
It's work done with the community and for the community. Restoring the forest also strengthens ties with those who live there.
At MRN, the forest is a priority. Reforestation is more than repairing: it's cultivating the future, biodiversity, and respect for those who have always lived in the Amazon.
The future of the Amazon is built every day. Follow closely how we turn care into action and commitment into results.
